The musician was famed for his elegant written arrangements that gave extra polish to the Nashville Sound in the late 1960s.
Walker is well known for his role as musical director of the Johnny Cash television show (1969–1971), the Statler Brothers show on TNN (Nashville Network), and the CMA awards show from the 1970s through the early 1990s. Biff Collie and Johnny K. Covell were the radio promotions staff.
