  3. Rumwold was a seventh-century saint about whom very little is known, and there are only eight churches dedicated to him in England. Bonnington is a small two-cell church of great charm which stands on the banks of the Royal Military Canal.

  4. St Rumwold’s Church Bonnington is situated near the Royal Military canal. It is a Grade: I listed building, built by the Normans in the 12th century with the nave being rebuilt in the 14th century. There is record of there being two bells in 1552, although only one existed in 1887.
