With bassist Elaine Adamedes, the band known then simply as the Muses was asked to play at a high school party at the house of Dave Narcizo, whom Hersh and Donelly had known since the first grade. After the party, Hersh asked Narcizo to join as the Muses' drummer, and the band was complete.
