Günther Dissertori (* 24. November 1969 in Meran) ist ein italienischer Physiker und Professor für Teilchenphysik an der ETH Zürich. Er ist Experte in Quantenchromodynamik und ist seit vielen Jahren leitend im CMS Experiment am LHC Beschleuniger des CERN involviert, wo im Jahre 2012 das Higgs-Boson entdeckt wurde.

24. März 2021 · Günther Dissertori wurde im März 2021 von den Professor:innen der ETH als neuer Rektor nominiert und im Mai auf Antrag von ETH-Präsident Joël Mesot vom ETH Rat offiziell gewählt. Dissertori ist in Südtirol aufgewachsen und hat an der Universität Innsbruck Physik studiert.
