22. Juli 2022 · Glen Allred, Legendary Florida Boys Baritone, Passes Away. As Friday, July 22 begins, the family of Southern Gospel music is mourning the passing of a true legend and friend, Glen Allred. Mr. Allred passed away unexpectedly overnight and he leaves a void that will not be filled.
Glen Allred & 3 Generations is a Southern gospel group. Glen Allred, the former baritone singer for The Florida Boys, is also the baritone singer for The 3 Generations. Randy Allred, the former bass singer for The Dixie Echoes reprises this role. The alto is Cindy Dunn and the soprano is Brandy Allred.
23. Juli 2022 · Glen Allred, the last of the original Florida Boys Quartet, passed away on July 22. He was 85 years-old. Allred was the baritone singer of the quartet. The group was founded in 1946 by J. G. Whitfield. Originally named The Gospel Melody Quartet, the group was renamed in 1954.

Glen Allred (June 19, 1934 - July 22, 2022) Biography. Glenan "Glen" Allred was born in Monroe, Tennessee in 1934, the son of Homer Edmond and Lois Grace Allred. He joined Wally Fowler 's Oak Ridge Quartet when he was 16 to play guitar and fill in singing for Fowler whenever Fowler didn't travel with the group.
