Jim Scholten (born April 18, 1952) was the original bass player for Sawyer Brown. He was also one of the founding members of the band. Jim and original lead guitarist Bobby Randall have known each other since they were kids.

Sawyer Brown's bass player Jim Scholten is saying goodbye to the band after 40 years, due to complications from surgery taking a toll on his health. 30. Juni 2021 · The rest of the band – lead guitarist Bobby Randall, bassist Jim Scholten, and drummer Joe “Curly” Smyth – congregated after. Together, they did some studio work, made some rent money, and later on pursued a music career. The members originally grew out of country-pop singer Don King’s road band.
