Peter Pye was born on the 12th of July 1946 in Walthamstow, he was 5' 8" and he has blonde hair and blue eyes. (Thank you N.M.E.) He grew up in the same area as Martin Murray and other Honeycombs band members.
In 1972, Peter Pye, using an alteration of his middle name Frank, started a brief solo career as Peter Franc, with a single for Blue Mountain label, though both compositions were credited to Peter F. Pye. It was followed by two albums and three singles for the Dawn label, the latest being a 1975 non-album single.
Peter Pye (1902 – 3 September 1966), Dr Edward Arthur (Peter) Pye. MRCS, LRCP, was a British yachtsman, author and doctor. Peter Pye was educated at Epsom College, then Trinity College, Cambridge and St George's Hospital, London.

With Peter Pye replacing Martin Murray, the second single, Is It Because, stalled at #38. Eyes, which followed it, bombed totally. To the outsider, The Honeycombs had fallen into the dreaded one-hit-wonder syndrome and, before long, would be stacked on the rejection pile.
The 'Honeycombs' were one of Joe Meek's greatest successes although they did not stay in the public eye for very long. After recording them at his private studio in Holloway, producer/ 'sound engineer extraordinary' Meek persuaded Pye to distribute their first single.
