Contents. Palliser novels. The Palliser novels are six novels written in series by Anthony Trollope. They were more commonly known as the Parliamentary novels prior to their 1974 television dramatisation by the BBC broadcast as The Pallisers.
Awaiting trial for murder, Finn despairs that everyone has lost faith in him, but the Pallisers and Chilterns work on his behalf while Marie travels to Prague.
After an opening wedding sequence, we follow the Pallisers on their honeymoon to Switzerland, where Glencora can't hide her unhappiness. The Vavasors are also in Switzerland, with John Grey, whom Alice is reluctantly engaged to. We learn that George and Alice were once engaged to be married.
