16. Juni 2020 · In 1953, Freeman was back in New York after a tour of Chile and Peru, and a failed marriage. He was anxious to get to work again, but he had lost confidence in his playing. However, he was acquainted with some of modernist Lennie Tristano's recordings, thought him brilliant, and knew that he did some teaching.
