Edward John “Ted” Templeman (born October 24, 1942) is an American record producer. Among the acts he has a long relationship with are the rock bands Van Halen and the Doobie Brothers and the singer Van Morrison; he produced multiple critically acclaimed and commercially successful albums by each of them.
Ende 1970 bekam der Produzent Ted Templeman ein Demo in die Hände und bald bekam die Band einen Vertrag bei Warner Brothers. Anfang 1971 wurde ihre erste LP Doobie Brothers veröffentlicht, die allerdings kein Erfolg wurde.
