Lambaréné (landesübliche französische Schreibweise; im Deutschen meist Lambarene) ist der Hauptort der Provinz Moyen-Ogooué in Gabun. Der Name entstammt der Sprache der Galoa, einer Ethnie Gabuns, und bedeutet „Wir wollen es versuchen“.

Albert Schweitzer opened a hospital in 1913 in Lambaréné in what was then French Equatorial Africa that became Gabon, where he ran it until his death in 1965. He won the Nobel Prize in 1952 for his work there. Schweitzer used the prize money to build a leper colony.
