Der Tanz. Der Son als Tanz beginnt mit der formalen, geschlossenen Umarmung von Mann und Frau. Das Paar behält einen sehr aufrechten Rahmen mit schnellen, flirtenden und sinnlichen Bewegungen der Schultern, des Rumpfes und der Hüften, die den darunter liegenden 6-Schläge-Rhythmus der Füße betonen. Der Son wird „contratiempo“ getanzt.
