  1. 1. Mai 2018 · A Serbian Film has value to me as an experience in extreme emotion. When I watch films like this I go in wanting and expecting to see and feel things I've never seen nor felt before whilst watching a movie. Horrific yet unique gore/grossout scenes, absolutely fucked up sexual situations, disturbing psychological depravity, brutal scenes that challenge me on an emotional level or even challenge ...

  2. Salo is the shock art that people pretend a serbian film is. I feel like the only person who will defend a Serbian film by admitting that it is purely shock for shock’s sake. Salo feels like it explores relationships of power more than it feels like a shock movie. The things that happen in the movie are shocking.

  3. 12. Aug. 2012 · So 'a serbian film' is a movie explaining that, a normal guy, who is paid to rape and then eventually has his free will stripped and destroys everything through rape. It's a weird movie, because it's a culture struggling through the thing they did, but also a lot of good old gross out pictures and it's weirder because it's like it's trying to ...

  4. 30. Apr. 2020 · By far the most evil film Ive seen, and I study film and media. 5. 12. Apr. 2014 · Murder Set Pieces -- doesn't hold back on the nudity, violence, or sexual violence, but it's not as well made as A Serbian Film. Someone's Knocking at the Door -- mindscrewy. Bad Biology -- revolves entirely around sexuality-related body horror, but fair warning, I found its overall quality extremely lacking.

  6. 15. Aug. 2016 · The use of children in A Serbian Film. Perhaps the most disturbing part of A Serbian Film is the use of children as both instruments of sexual activities and as pawns in Milos self-conscious. The film’s second narrative of corruption and lost youth is shown through the three children present in the film: Petar, Jeca, and the newborn.

  7. 17. Mai 2021 · Arguably, A Serbian Film could be the most controversial film of the 2010s - banned in multiple countries, and many refusing to release the film uncut, it's a film that caused much dismay on the film festival circuit during its initial release. I feel it's understandable, the violence is excessive - sexual violence, humiliation, rape, degradation and children are included in this onslaught of ...

  8. 24. Dez. 2023 · I also just like the shitstorm it causes whenever someone shows support for it, even (or especially) in the extreme cinema crowd. A Serbian Film was one of the first disturbing movies I ever watched. It was quite a while ago so my memory is quite hazy on it, but certain scenes have stuck in my mind.

  9. 10. Juli 2021 · Icl, I’ve mostly forgotten it now- but it was COVID time, so in my defence there was a lot of films. I didn’t really struggle to watch it tbh. The most jarring part would probably be the scene with the baby (am I thinking about the right film?)

  10. CaptainTryk. •. Irreversible will make a Serbian Film look cute. A Serbian Film is all about shock horror and driving the literal metaphor as far out as possible without really having all that much depth to it in the end. Irreversible will teach you some shit about destruction of the human soul and ego driven revenge.
