Paul Barrere died on October 26, 2019. Scott Sharrard, who had filled in for Barrere during Little Feat's 50th Anniversary tour, was later brought on board as a full-time band member. [18] On September 16, 2020, the band released a video rerecording of the 1975 Lowell George song Long Distance Love.
It is the only original song on the album and was co-written by Allman with the guitarist and bandleader Scott Sharrard, forming the album's lead single. The song has the theme of time running out at the end of life. Allman was ill at the time and died on May 27, 2017, not long after the recording.
