     Kurashiki | 倉敷 Okayama Prefecture Kurashiki is a very popular destination for visitors to Okayama. The city thrived as a merchant city in the Edo Period and has was an important textile hub in the Meiji Era. It is most well-known today for its old town center with canals surrounded by museums, shops, restaurants and cafes. There was a Jazz Music Festival going on during my visit and there is also an area dedicated to shops selling denim, tracing back once again to the city’s heritage as a textil
