27. Mai 2014 · 1. Cologne is ~200 km from FRA! If you're coming from Frankfurt city, there are S8/S9 trains every 15 min, so even if you miss two, you'll only be half an hour late. – lambshaanxy. Juli 2018 · Coming from Frankfurt central station, one would usually take the S-Bahn (and not a "regular" regional train) to the airport as they run more often (1 regular train/hour vs. 4 S-Bahn trains). Since the S-Bahn leaves from the lower floor and IIRC the trains are announced on separate boards, I think it's worth mentioning them explicitly.

16. Juni 2017 · There are lockers at Frankfurt Main Station (Frankfurt Hbf). You can leave your bags there. A small locker costs 3 or 4 Eur per day, a big locker costs 5 or 6 Eur per day. Note, that day ends at midnight, it doesn't matter when you put your bags in the locker - at 3:00 or at 23:00. (full picture)

But you're recommended to be back at the airport two hours before your flight leaves, to make sure you get through security and so on. That leaves you with about minus-10 minutes to spend in Frankfurt.
If you hold a visa for any of these countries and your connection is less than 24 hours then you can transit Frankfurt without a visa. The Frankfurt Airport website page on Muslim prayer rooms says: Friday prayers are held in the Muslim prayer room in Terminal 1 every Friday at the time stated in the prayer calendar. Just took one yesterday, and it took me 15 minutes. If you use the free official airport shuttle running outside (which you have to do since you have luggage), it will take you up to 30 minutes, from the point you left the doors of terminal 1 to the point you entered the door of terminal 2.
