The game, along with all other Stadia games, would later become unavailable following the shutdown of the platform on January 18, 2023.

The game was released in Japan on March 12, 2020, exclusively on the Nintendo Switch. A Chinese version was released on December 24, 2020, also exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.

The core design from Just Dance 2019 is retained, but several significant changes are introduced. Introduced in a post-release update, the loading screen now includes a simple animation, with this game’s being a sequence of a selection of its coaches doing the primary move from Skibidi (alternating arms and legs with each image). On the Nintendo Switch, the option to use a phone as a controller was reintroduced after its absence in Just Dance 2019. With the introduction of All Stars Mode. the mode selection has been given a design change, with the names appearing in tabs and a representative collage appearing upon highlighting a selection.

Kids Mode has had its interface adjusted aesthetically, though gameplay function remains identical. The background now consists of a soft gradient on the edges with squares, circles, stars, and spirals emerging from the center. The spinning background for covers has also had its colors softened.

Mode has also had its aesthetics altered, primarily giving menu elements bold gradients. Some color schemes also changed, most notably the Tabs, which have gone from a faint blue to a turquoise-green gradient. In the Songs tab, a "Recommended for You" section has been added to Catalog sort, showing five maps. Additionally, every map included in the game data visible in the Songs tab (thus excepting maps requiring an internet connection and those exclusive to Kids Mode) has received Song Rewards: these are 3 objectives that give out specific items, one for playing the song (which grants an avatar of a coach present in the map), one for playing the map 3 times (which grants a sticker for the Sticker Album, the replacement for Artwork Collection), and one for obtaining a Megastar rating on the map (which grants a golden version of the avatar from the initial objective). The sorts for the Songs tab have been expanded and changed: "Number of dancers" is now referred to as "Number of Coaches", and a new "Score" sort is added after the prior game’s sorts, which alphabetically sorts songs in categories by rating received, including a "No Star" category. Players can enable a new feature in the Options menu to be recommended songs to play after completing a map and before returning to the menu.

The rest of the changes pertain to the Profile tab. The skins feature has returned in tandem with Titles from the previous game, allowing profiles to have four elements of customization. The Gift Machine returns with a design change, going from a flat red color to a light blue gradient, and now rewards players with avatars, stickers, aliases, and skins, no longer dispensing themed Alternate Routines, which must instead be unlocked by playing the corresponding Classic routine five times. As mentioned before, the Sticker Album replaces Artwork Collection, themed to the tenth anniversary with collages representing each main release. The background music in the album changes depending on which page is highlighted, corresponding with that game’s menu music, staying uninterrupted when moving between games that share menu music, with Just Dance 2019 and Just Dance 2020’s utilizing the same "keeping the same time in the loop" feature as the mode selection.
