The New Cases animation uses a 5-day moving average, calculated for each day by averaging the values of that day, the two days before, and the two next days. This approach helps prevent events like a change in reporting methods or data variability from skewing the case count.

23. Jan. 2020 · In response to this ongoing public health emergency, we developed an interactive web-based dashboard (static snapshot shown above) hosted by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University, to visualize and track reported cases in real-time.
