  3. He was a beast, he was one of my favorite players. He was undersized but was strong as hell. Really good rebounder and amazing defender but he offensive game lacked consistency. At times he looked amazing, other times it looked like a work in progress. He played in a era loaded with amazing centers so he kinda blended in.

His relentless motor helped boost his block rates and percentages to be some of the best ever, he averaged an insane 4.8 blocks per 100 possessions for his career (for reference, Hakeem Olajuwon averaged 4.3 blocks per 100 possessions for his whole career.

  7. 22. Sept. 2014 · Offensively Howard was more athletic and better at rolling to the basket, Mourning had a (reasonable, but not great) midrange shot and more touch around the basket. Howard has slightly better footwork IMO; Alonzo used to just muscle his way to the basket on post moves. tldr; if you need a defensive anchor and midrange shooter, Mourning.

  8. 19. Jan. 2018 · ADMIN MOD. Why is Alonzo Mourning so underrated? He was a very underrated scorer besides his defensive prowess he went to Miami and won 61 games. Also its very probable that if he didn't get suspended he would have won a championship in the 1999 lockout season as a team as physical as Miami would have been a great match up for the spurs.

  10. 21. Mai 2016 · Zo's game was based on being quick and being tough. He had a good face up game, mediocre post up game, he was a good mid range shooter. And on defense, he combined good instincts with a lot of hustle, but he didn't physically dominate anybody. He was really undersized for his position during his era.
