The California Fourth District Court of Appeal is one of six courts of appeal in California. Established in 1929, it is divided into three divisions and has jurisdiction in the following counties: Inyo, San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange, San Diego and Imperial.

The Fourth District Court of Appeal became the Court of Appeal, Fourth Appellate District. The media and public have mostly ignored the change in name. Like the common law writs which rule from their graves, the title "Fourth District Court of Appeal" prevails.
Justice Frank J. Menetrez was appointed to the Court of Appeal, Fourth District, Division Two, by Governor Jerry Brown in October 2018. He was confirmed by unanimous vote of the Commission on Judicial Appointments on November 26, 2018, having been rated “exceptionally well qualified” by the state bar’s Commission on Judicial Nominees Evaluation.
