Das Clay Mathematics Institute (CMI) zur Förderung der Mathematik hat seinen Sitz in Peterborough (New Hampshire), USA. Es wurde im September 1999 vom Stifterpaar Clay, dem Bostoner Geschäftsmann Landon T. Clay und dessen Frau Lavinia D. Clay, gegründet.
The Clay Mathematics Institute (CMI) is a private, non-profit foundation dedicated to increasing and disseminating mathematical knowledge. Formerly based in Peterborough, New Hampshire , [1] the corporate address is now in Denver , Colorado.
Als Millennium-Probleme werden die im Jahr 2000 vom Clay Mathematics Institute in Cambridge in einer Liste aufgezählten ungelösten Probleme der Mathematik bezeichnet. Das Institut hat für die Lösung eines der sieben Probleme ein Preisgeld von jeweils einer Million US-Dollar ausgelobt.
The Millennium Prize Problems are seven well-known complex mathematical problems selected by the Clay Mathematics Institute in 2000. The Clay Institute has pledged a US$ 1 million prize for the first correct solution to each problem.
