About me. Sven Axelsson was born in the Swedish town of Uppsala in 1962 to parents Per and Maj Axelsson. He has a sister, Gunilla Bergersson, and a brother, Gunnar Axelsson, both considerably older than himself (15 and 12 years respectively), so in practice he grew up as the only child in the family.

Sven-Olov Axelsson startete in seiner aktiven Zeit für den Verein Dala-Floda IF. Er wurde 1963 und 1964 schwedischer Meister im Einzelwettbewerb über 20 km. [1] Axelsson vertrat Schweden bei der Biathlon-Weltmeisterschaft 1963. Seinen größten internationalen Erfolg feierte er mit der Teilnahme an den Olympischen Winterspielen 1964 in Innsbruck.
