Julie Harris shines as Nora, a Norwegian housewife who, thanks to 1800s social customs, unknowingly lacks an identity. As the title suggests, the young woman is merely an object to the men in her life, namely her husband Torvald, played here by an energetic 30-year-old Christopher Plummer.
