Bandjoun (La 'Djo in local language) is a town and commune in the Koung-Khi Department in the West Region of Cameroon. Bandjoun is also the capital of the Koung-Khi department, and one of the largest traditional chefferie (chiefdom) in Bamiléké country.
In the Bandjoun territory in the West of Cameroon lie various sites perceived as sacred by the local people. They are the remnant cores of sites that were historically a lot more extensive representing the identity of tribes and communities in the region.
