Joseph Campbell Butler (born September 16, 1941) is an American drummer, singer and actor. He is a member of the Lovin' Spoonful, who had seven top 10 hits between 1965 and 1966. [1] Butler would replace the bands original drummer Jan Carl and would occasionally sing lead vocals.
1. März 2020 · Joe Butler, John Sebastian and Steve Boone performed together for the first time in 20 years at a Wild Honey Orchestra show in Glendale, California. The concert was a tribute to the Lovin' Spoonful, but not a true reunion, as co-founder Zal Yanovsky died in 2002.

7. Juli 2022 · Zal Yanovsky was a Canadian Jew of Russian-Polish descent who co-founded the influential rock band Lovin' Spoonful in 1965. He was a talented and charismatic musician, but also a mercurial and unpredictable personality who left the band in 1967 and became a restaurateur and philanthropist in Kingston, Ontario.
We recently spoke with The Lovin' Spoonful's drummer, Mr. Joe Butler. Joe has been inducted into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, The Vocal Group Hall Of Fame and The Long Island Music Hall Of Fame. He was recently honored by the Great Neck Arts Center as "Artist Of The Year".
