Maha Sura Singhanat led the Siamese forces to receive the Burmese attacks coming from the west and south. He strategically defeated the superior Burmese armies at the Battle of Lat Ya and forced Bodawpaya to retreat.
25. Apr. 2024 · Wat Chana Songkram is one of an important royal temple, it was built back in Aydhaya era and was majorly renovated by Somdej Phrabovornrajjao Maha Surasinghanat, a younger brother of King Rama the 1st, the founder of Chakri dynasty and Bangkok around 235 years ago.
Subsequently, Prince Maha Surasinghanat restored Wat Tong Pu, and donated to King Rama I. The king then lifted it to be the royal monastery, Wat Chana Songkhram is open to visitors every day from 06:30 to 18:30 and admission is free.
