Recognising this need, Prince William founded The Earthshot Prize in 2020. In just three years, we’re emerging as a global platform for finding innovators, unlocking funding, accelerating solutions and inspiring optimism. Our 2024 Impact Report sets out where we are on our decade-long journey.
The Earthshot Prize is a global environmental award that is rewarded to five winners each year for their contributions towards environmentalism. It was first awarded in 2021 and is planned to run annually until 2030. Each winner receives a grant of £1 million to continue their environmental work.

8. Nov. 2023 · An Indian maker of solar-powered dryers, a soil carbon marketplace and groups that work to make electric car batteries cleaner, restore Andean forests and deter illegal fishing were awarded the Earthshot Prize at a ceremony in Singapore.
The Earthshot Prize is a global prize for solutions to the world's greatest environmental challenges, inspired by President Kennedy's Moonshot. The Royal Foundation, the primary philanthropic vehicle for The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, drives this initiative to make a difference.
