Tulsidas was a 16th century poet and saint who composed the Ramcharitmanas, a Hindi version of the Ramayana. He is also the seer of the Hanuman Chalisa, a popular mantra for Hanuman, and a follower of Lord Rama's teachings.
This work is also called, in popular parlance, Tulsi Ramayana, Tulsikrit Ramayana, Tulsidas Ramayana or simply Manas. The word Ramcharitmanas literally means "Lake of the deeds of Rama ". [1] It is considered one of the greatest works of Hindu literature.
