Lola ( French: Lola vers la mer, also known as Lola and the Sea) is a 2019 Belgian-French drama film written and directed by Laurent Micheli. It stars Mya Bollaers, in her acting debut, as a 18-year-old transgender girl grieving the death of her mother.
In LOLA AND THE SEA, Lola (Mya Bollaers) lives in the city with her best friend Samir (Sami Outalbali, SEX EDUCATION) studying for her diploma as a veterinary assistant. Emboldened by her life changing transition and support of her mother she has the world at her feet with no plans of looking back.
