The Nouvelle théologie (French for New Theology) is an intellectual movement in Catholic theology that arose in the mid-20th century.
Four phases can be distinguished within the development of nouvelle théologie: Thomistic ressourcement, theological ressourcement, the internationalization of the movement, and its assimilation during the Second Vatican Council. This overview thus covers a period of around thirty years, from the 1930s to Vatican II.
