16. März 2023 · The Kīpahulu District protects multiple intact ahupua'a. An ahupuaʻa is a traditional Native Hawaiian land division that protects all resources from sea to summit. The streams are home to endemic gobies and other fish species that evolved from ancient salt water ancestors.
Kīpahulu is an unincorporated community in the Hāna district of southeastern Maui, Hawaiʻi.
The campground is located within the Kīpahulu District of Haleakalā National Park on the east side of the island of Maui. One visitor center is located approximately 1/8 mile from the campground. The visitor center is open daily and has historical displays as well as a small gift store.

16. März 2022 · The Kīpahulu campground is about 1/8 mile (.2 km) south of the Kīpahulu Visitor Center. Sites overlook ocean cliffs and are a short walk from ʻOheʻo Gulch. Entry into the stream at any point in the park is prohibited. Be prepared for rain, harsh sun, and mosquitoes. There is no beach access.

Maui waterfalls: Oheo Gulch. These Kipahulu waterfalls are referred to by many different names. Among them include the Oheo Gulch, Oheo Pools, the Pools at Oheo, and the Seven Sacred Pools. You will hike the Kuloa Point Trail to get to the waterfalls.
