The cotton gin brought more prosperity to the locals. In 1800, the town's population was 238. By 1830, there were approximately 700 inhabitants. In 1860, Warren County would become the richest in North Carolina. Warrenton would even own its own railroad - the Warrenton Railroad, completed in 1884.
