From 1871 to 1945, it included the bridge of Pomerelia (the easternmost part of historical Pomerania), as well as part of West Prussia (Westpreussen) east of the Vistula River. In 1967, it consisted of parts of Gdańsk, Bydgoszcz, and Koszalin Voivodeships.
