Bobbio ist das wichtigste Zentrum des Trebbia-Tals und liegt am linken Ufer des gleichnamigen Flusses, am Fuße des Monte Penice. In unmittelbarer Nähe zu Ligurien spürt man den wohltuenden Einfluss des Meeres, vor allem in den höheren Lagen.
