Clare Kummer (January 9, 1873 — April 21, 1958) was an American composer, lyricist, and playwright. Early life. Kummer was born Clare Rodman Beecher in Brooklyn, New York, the granddaughter of Rev. Edward Beecher and great-granddaughter of Lyman Beecher. [1] .
