National Liberal Club was to be a bastion for Liberal politics in the UK. In 1976 the NLC became the first major London private club to admit women and, today, is proud to continue to strive for an ethnically and socially diverse membership.

The National Liberal Club was established in 1882 by William Ewart Gladstone. It was designed to provide facilities for Liberal Party campaigners. William Digby acted as secretary of the Club until 1887.
