L' hôtel des Invalides est un ensemble architectural parisien situé dans le 7 e arrondissement 2, dont la construction remonte au XVIIe siècle. Elle a en effet été ordonnée par Louis XIV le 24 février 1670 3 dans le but d'accueillir les soldats invalides de ses armées.
La cité des Invalides ouvre aux vétérans dès 1674. À la fois hospice, caserne, couvent, hôpital et manufacture, l'Hôtel est une véritable cité réglementée selon un système à la fois militaire et religieux. Plus de 4 000 pensionnaires vivent alors entre les murs du site.
