Édouard Herriot war ein französischer Politiker der Radikalen Partei. Er war von Juni 1924 bis April 1925 und von Juni bis Dezember 1932 Premierminister, 1925–26 und 1936–40 Präsident der Abgeordnetenkammer sowie 1947–1954 Präsident der Nationalversammlung. Zudem war Herriot 1905–1940 und 1945–1957 Bürgermeister von Lyon.
Édouard Marie Herriot (French: [edwaʁ ma.ʁi ɛʁjo]; 5 July 1872 – 26 March 1957) was a French Radical politician of the Third Republic who served three times as Prime Minister (1924–1925; 1926; 1932) and twice as President of the Chamber of Deputies. He led the first Cartel des Gauches.
Édouard Herriot, né le 5 juillet 1872 à Troyes ( Aube) et mort le 26 mars 1957 à Saint-Genis-Laval ( Rhône ), est un académicien et homme d'État français. Membre du Parti radical, il est une figure centrale de la IIIe République .
Édouard Herriot fut élu à l’Académie française le 5 décembre 1946, par 24 voix au fauteuil d’Octave Aubry, mort prématurément avant d’être reçu. C’est Jérôme Tharaud qui le reçut, le 26 juin 1947.
