She used the name of Bonnie Blue when she was a vocalist with the Mark Warnow band, then used Helen Forrest as vocalist for bands of Artie Shaw (1938-1939); Benny Goodman (1939-1941); Harry James (1941-1944). Forrest became one of the most popular big band singers (voice of the name bands) that won the 1942 Downbeat and Metronome polls.
