Her most commercially successful number was the US Billboard R&B chart topping hit "(Opportunity Knocks But Once) Snatch and Grab It" in 1947. She is best known for her trademark double entendre songs.

She worked primarily in Kansas City and frequently teamed up with the great drummer Samuel "Baby" Lovett, a veteran of George Lee's band.
