Try as Yukihiko Tsutsumi and his team might, adapting 20th Century Boys was always going to be an uphill battle. Random twists and unfinished plot lines were just the start. The limits of Tsutsumi’s ability were exposed as viewers begin to see his aversion to risk behind the camera.
