2016. 1 hr 35 min. 6.7 (815) A Prominent Patient is a historical drama film set in Czechoslovakia during the tumultuous years after World War II. The movie tells the story of Jan Masaryk, the son of the first president of Czechoslovakia, who served as Minister of Foreign Affairs in the government of his close friend, President Eduard Benes.
I prefer to disregard those aspects and accept the movie as a style piece, a work of highly stylized history which is nevertheless useful for people like my American wife who knew nothing about Masaryk, the annexation of Sudetenland and the rest. Viewed through this prism, A Prominent Patient is a fine movie.
