18. Juli 2023 · Pinging back to an old thread by kazblox asking for the building of a reliable filmography of silent Aesop’s Fables, here is a recent effort of mine. I have used the filmographies of Lenburg (The Encyclopedia of Animated Cartoons, 3rd edition, 2009) and the most recent one of Erickson (A Van Beuren Production, 2020) as baseline.
Aesop’s Fables. 1983 ‘まんがイソップ物語’ Directed by Norio Hikone. Aesop is a trouble-making young boy who finds himself in another world filled with creatures he never believed to exist, such as fairies and talking donkeys. He sets off to find a way back to the normal world.
