Starting with his next album, Still Got the Blues, he primarily played blues. Although Cozy Powell played drums on the album, he was replaced by Chris Slade for the tour, as he was set to tour with Black Sabbath, in support of the album, Headless Cross, on which he also played drums.

Cozy Powell (born Colin Trevor Flooks; 29 December 1947 – 5 April 1998) was an English drummer who made his name with major rock bands and artists such as The Jeff Beck Group, Rainbow, Michael Schenker Group, Gary Moore, Graham Bonnet, Brian May, Whitesnake, Emerson, Lake & Powell, and Black Sabbath.
5. Apr. 2024 · The driver – Cozy Powell – died that same night of his injuries in hospital. Next morning, the papers revealed that the life of Powell, a rock drumming superstar for 30 years, had ended abruptly and without warning.
6. Apr. 2020 · The 80s closed with Cozy playing with Gary Moore (After The War) before joining Black Sabbath, with bassist Neil Murray and singer Tony Martin. Those two albums Headless Cross and Tyr are underrated classics; I remember a show at Hammersmith Odeon on the Tyr tour where they were joined onstage by Brian May.
