Adapted for television by Robert Jones and directed by Adrian Shergold, the film stars Julie Walters as Stubbs, a diminutive Glaswegian headmistress who takes on the challenge of improving the fortunes of St George's Roman Catholic Secondary School in North West London.
The film successfully displays the atmosphere to be found in a lot of schools all over the country even mine once or twice. This film encourages the viewer to look back on school experiences and smile. Ahead of the class made for an enjoyable and at times gripping movie experience and personally, I would watch it again.
