Der Multiinstrumentalist Al Kooper war ab Mitte der sechziger Jahre auf einem einzigen Erfolgstrip. Zunächst seine eher durch Zufall entstandene Mitarbeit auf Bob Dylans Album "Highway 61 Revisited" (1965), dann ein langfristiger Plattenvertrag für seine Soloaktivitäten und schließlich fand er auch noch die Zeit, um eine Super Session (1968) mit Mike Bloomfield abzuhalten.
