Alain Savary, né le 25 avril 1918 à Alger et mort le 17 février 1988 à Paris, est un homme politique français, compagnon de la Libération, membre de la Section française de l'Internationale ouvrière (SFIO), du Parti socialiste unifié (PSU), et enfin du Parti socialiste (PS), dont il est premier premier secrétaire de 1969 à 1971.

Savary, who was educated in France , joined the Resistance in 1940 and led the group that liberated (1941) the French dependency of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon .
