Judas Priest war ursprünglich eine im Jahr 1969 gegründete Blues -Band, die aus dem Sänger Alan Atkins, dem Bassisten Bruno Stapenhill, dem Schlagzeuger John Partige und dem Gitarristen John Perry bestand. Perry starb noch im gleichen Jahr durch Suizid [2] und wurde durch Ernie Chataway ersetzt, der 2014 an Krebs verstarb.

Alan Wolf Arkin (* 26. März 1934 in New York City, New York; † 29. Juni 2023 in Carlsbad, Kalifornien [1]) war ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler, Sänger, Regisseur und Kinderbuchautor. Für seine Darstellung im Roadmovie Little Miss Sunshine wurde er 2007 mit dem Oscar als bester Nebendarsteller ausgezeichnet.
Alan Atkins sang nur zwei Songs für Judas Priest im Studio ein: "Good Time Woman" und "We’ll Stay Together". Nach Atkins‘ Ausstieg im Jahr 1973 brachte Sue Halford, die Freundin von Ian Hill, ihren Bruder Rob als Sänger in die Band, wo er zunächst bleiben sollte.
