   Am Vortag waren 81 Kubaner bei einer Explosion ums Leben gekommen. Er schoss in rascher Folge zwei Fotos, ein Quer- und ein Hochformat. Korda gilt heute als der fotografische Chronist der kubanischen Revolution und des neuen Kuba. Er Korda starb 2001 in Paris. Zunächst fand das Foto keine besondere Beachtung.
