  1. Order of St. Anne. Mikhail Vasilyevich Alekseyev ( Russian: Михаил Васильевич Алексеев) (15 November [ O.S. 3 November] 1857 – 8 October [ O.S. 25 September] 1918) was an Imperial Russian Army general during World War I and the Russian Civil War.

  2. In 1890 he graduated from the academy of general staff, first in his class. He received an appointment at the general staff and remained in St. Petersburg. Along with his staff service, he also taught Russian military history at the academy in 1890-1904.
